It ain’t our first rodeo…

Seasoned, bar-vet musicians Brandon “Maurice” Bush and Rodney Gardner once thought they were on opposite ends of the musical spectrum. But, as these co-workers soon found out, they had a lot more in common than they originally thought. After a couple of just for fun jam sessions, they found sonic common ground, and formed “Copperhead Rodeo” in the course of a year.

Bush, who grew up in Ector, TX, had a three piece pop/punk group in high school, then ventured into alternative country with the Brandon Bush Band, based in Denton, TX. They played the local circuit, got on Texas and XM radio stations. After a few years, Brandon decided to pursue other goals, and in 2021 started performing and recording again.

Gardner, hailing from the high desert area of California, cut his teeth in his teens and early twenties with several metal projects, including Concealed Misanthropy, General Public Corruption, and an early incarnation of Sick Life. Since moving to Texas, he used the guitar solely as a personal outlet until meeting up with Bush to forge Copperhead Rodeo.

Together, with renewed enthusiasm for the craft, this project has given them a place to roam and explore muscially as they were always meant to.
